Fangzhou Wang is a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice & Criminology at Georgia State University. Fang is an incoming assistant professor at the University of Texas-Arlington in the Fall of 2023. Her main research focus is to understand the linguistic aspects of romance fraudsters' operations. Fang also examines the risk and protective factors of romance fraud victims to raise awareness and safeguard victims and potential victims from being harmed in the future. Her research is interdisciplinary and focuses on using a comparative perspective. Her interests in cybercrimes are not limited to online romance scams, but a wide range of interpersonal violence in virtual space. Fang currently has several publications on Crime and Delinquency, Social Science Computer Review, Victims & Offenders, International Journal of Cyber Criminology, and American Journal of Criminal Justice. Fang also has several collaborative publications in progress that aim to be submitted by the end of 2023.
